Tree Pose
Tree pose is a balancing pose and will increase your sense of balance.  It strengthens your thighs, calves, ankles, and spine and stretches your chest, shoulders, groin and inner thigh.

Benefits of tree pose besides increasing your balance is that is relieves sciatica pain and reduces flat feet.

To deepen the pose try it with you eyes closed.

Beginners: If you feel unstable in this pose lean against a wall.



1. Come to stand in Mountain Pose. 

2.  Shift your weight onto your left leg, grab your right ankle and bring your foot to rest on the inside of the left thigh.  If possible position your heel against your groin.

3. Bring your hands to prayer position and lift them above your head.  Focus your eyes straight ahead or close them.

4. Repeat using the other leg.
